Hello, friends!  I know, it's been a long time since I've posted here.  I wanted to share my latest piece, "Midwinter Blessings," depicting a faerie in the snow.

I created this piece as a gift to my lovely followers and supporters of SilverFlame Art.  If you click on the thumbnail in this entry, it will take you to my main site, where there is a link to the full-sized, high res download.  I hope you all enjoy!

I've completed another commissioned piece, this one an illustration of a scene with a character named Alynn'nari.  The character's creator goes by the same name.

It's been a few days since I've posted here!  How is everyone?

This week has been a fairly good week for the creative process, though I would have liked to have gotten more done.  I'm nearly done with the commissioned book cover (I'll ask about sharing it here and on the main site when it's complete), and have been posting some things to The Wilderland, as well as some contemplative pieces about the magic of the artistic life.  Come on by the SilverFlame Art blog and take a look!

I am really hoping to improve my juggling act in the weeks to come.  That's been one of my biggest issues thus far with this project-- trying to do so many different things at once.  Especially when it comes to the art, because it is so easy to pour five, six hours into a single piece without even noticing.  I've been thinking about a possible daily/weekly schedule that may help with that-- instead of trying to work on multiple art projects every day, in addition to blogging on silverflameart.com and dealing with various admin tasks, I'll delineate certain days for certain art projects and cycle them.  This will probably be helpful when I start doing the crowdfunded pieces, which I'm hoping to begin once I've got a few more followers over there who are willing to participate.  It's slowly picking up, but I suppose that sort of thing takes time.  I've been doing a lot of research into advertising and drawing traffic this week as well.  I've taken out some paid advertising on Facebook, but it doesn't seem to be drawing much more traffic than intelligent tagging does, so I may stick with a more organic approach after this campaign ends.

This coming week, I am determined to refine my balancing act and get done everything I will be putting on the list.  Including the ridiculously late Midwinter Blessings painting!

How is everyone today?

Today, I decided to go ahead and purchase the premium Wordpress account I'd been considering so that I could connect a domain.  And so, the new site address is SilverFlameArt.Com.  Be sure to add it to your bookmarks!  It looks like all the old links are being forwarded there as well, so everything I posted to this community should still be functional.

I've been playing about with my Patreon page, getting links updated and adding in the Wilderland project.  I'm not really sure how to attract patrons there, though.  Hoping I'll be able to increase my readership and fanbase in the next few weeks, which should help.  I'm looking into Google AdWords for starters.

Hello!  How is everyone in LiveJournal Land?

I've been enjoying this week, putting most of my time towards a book cover commission for author Lewis Allan.  I'm really enjoying this piece, and what I've read of his book is fantastic, blending the mythos of vampires and angels.  I've been working on this piece throughout most of yesterday and today.

I also started a new page/category on the SilverFlame Art site-- The Wilderland.  This will be a collection of my faerie-themed sketches, paintings, short fiction, prose fragments, and the occasional poem.  This will be frequently updated with new and old creations, with no real schedule.

Speaking of Faerie, I haven't had a chance to work on the Midwinter Blessings piece this week due to my focus on the large commission.  I'm hoping to dedicate at least a few hours to it, hopefully at least completing the grayscale figure.  It can be difficult to juggle multiple painting projects at once, which is one of my goals for improvement this year.  I get so caught up in a single project during one sitting that I spend all day working on it.  I'm thinking, actually, that it might be beneficial to schedule days for each project, rather than trying to do a little at a time on each every day.  Though the latter sometimes works too, if I'm having difficulty with focusing or getting things to look right.  I guess it never hurts to mix things up a bit.

How is everyone?  It's been so quiet on here!

One of my goals with the new site is to pour my creativity into my writing over there as well as my art.  So I wrote a blog post, On Magic, Dreams, and Art. Click the image below to read.
